meet the artist

Ky Quiring (They/Them) is a 2-Spirit multi disciplinary artist and tattoo practitioner with mix Indigenous roots deep from the Canadian shields, to the Great Lakes regions, and back to the Red River settlement, along with Ukrainian blood ties to Eastern Europe.

They bounce around from their Winnipeg studio on Treaty 1 to the homestead east of the city on Treaty 3. Where they’ve spend most of their life deep in the boreal forest, hunting, harvesting medicines, riding horses, collecting bones and learning from the land they call home.

Inspired by woodland art and fine-line work, you’ll find similarities between their different art mediums that reflect the continuous explorations of those relationships formed between the physical realm, spirit and themselves.

As a self-taught tattooer for over 7 years specializing in black and grey work, they’re able to translate personal connections from the natural world onto skin for their clients, friends, and family.
